Stephen A Smith recently discussed the outcome of the 2024 US presidential election on “The View” and made an interesting revelation about his potential future in politics. He was asked if he would consider running for president, and while he admitted he wasn’t fully qualified, he said he might consider it under the right conditions.
“If you came to me and told me I had a legitimate chance to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would certainly consider it,” he explained. “But I will be independent because I don’t like either party and I won’t be bought and paid off. I will do what is in the best interest of the American people, whatever that is.”

Smith may be willing to consider running for president, but he also pointed out that he is satisfied with his current life and does have “no intention of becoming a congressional figure.” As for his thoughts on the election results, he couldn’t help but praise Donald Trump for coming out victorious under the circumstances. “Donald Trump’s return to the White House may be the greatest return in American history,” he said on the show yesterday. “Thirty-four felonies, two impeachments – I can’t count the number of mistakes he’s made. When he left after the insurrection in the nation’s capital in 2020, we all thought he was done, he was done.”
Earlier this year, Smith even expressed interest in debating Trump and insisted he would succeed. “I would love to be in a presidential debate,” he told Howard Stern in January. “I would eat him alive. I won’t run for president, but I will debate Trump any day of the week. Any day of the week. Name the time and place and I will show up. What do you think of Stephen ·A.
