NFL star Stefon Diggs has filed a lawsuit against reality TV character Mia Jones and her friend Brianna “Brii” Mack for up to $1 million in damages.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the lawsuit filed in Harris County, Texas, accusing Jones of assaulting, extorting, trespassing and destroying property after the alleged incident at the Diggs apartment on June 7, 2024.
The Houston Texans catcher claimed that Jones punched him in the chest, threatening his career and destroying his $130,000 watch, PC gaming system and his phone, sending the latter into the bathroom. He also claimed she refused to leave.
According to the lawsuit, Jones allegedly warned that “you won’t be in this year’s competition” and in many times, weapons including guns will be threatened.
Diggs, who recently contacted Cardi B and Yung Miami, further accused Jones and Mack of trying to blackmail his millions of dollars by threatening to “open and destroy his career” unless he pays them.
His attorney, Kent Schaffer, dismissed the claims against Diggs, noting that Jones seeks financial benefits from short-lived casual relationships. Schaffer added that young athletes often face similar situations, and Diggs tried to avoid “drama”.
Meanwhile, Jones sought medical treatment on June 7, claiming she had slipped on the wet kitchen floor but was not unconscious. It was reported that the CT scan returned to negative. But, a week later, on June 14, she told the doctor that she was “beaten behind the head.”
The lawsuit also accused Jones and Mike of intentionally causing emotional distress and conspiracy.
Jones lashes at ‘click bait’ lawsuit
Jones responded on social media, saying the lawsuit was “click bait” and accused Diggs of assaulting her. She claimed she suffered a concussion, received the medication “requested” by the Diggs medical team and shared a medical report dated June 7, 2024 as evidence.
“It’s obviously an attempt to be ahead of the fact that is coming,” she wrote. “I won’t be intimidated or silent. It’s very painful for me to recover this moment, especially in my recovery. Domestic violence is something I don’t want to hope for anyone, and everything I do in the dark will be revealed.”
