Snoop Dogg is one of the winners of the prestigious Ultimate Idol Awards at the 2025 BET Awards, and Long Beach, California, says the rap legend has blocked the victory by performing some of his hits.
Snoop Dogg wins the Ultimate Icon Award
The 2025 BET Awards live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday night (June 9). Several rappers walked away from the winner, including Snoop Dogg, who was honored for one of the four Ultimate Idol Awards.
Dr. Dre presented the award with Snoopy, who delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech.
“Hip-hop, it gives me a voice. I give me a purpose,” Snoopy said in his acceptance speech below, thanking several people who have played a major role in his career, including his wife Shante. “As an idol, it has nothing to do with fame. It has nothing to do with legacy. It’s about your construction, what you leave behind and the people who rise along the way.”

In addition to winning the jackpot, Snoopy also took the stage to perform his biggest hits, including “Dropping Like The Hot”, “Nuthin, But G Tong”, “Beautiful” with Charlies Wilson, “Next Episode”, “Where’s No Fun (It’s Not Not Without a Companion), with Kuroupt and Warren G.
