The fourth quarter of 2024 is an unexpectedly eventful year for hip-hop releases. This week, two global rap icons come full circle, with a promising 2024 XXL freshman continuing his momentum and a rap veteran from the Bronx picking up the mic again after exploring other avenues and more.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre release missionary album
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are one of hip-hop’s greatest rapper-producer duos, and they have a classic album to prove it. With the release of new album Missionary , the legendary artists are back to square one. Thirty-one years after the release of Uncle Snoop’s seminal debut album Doggystyle, the new album has been teased since 2022, enduring multiple setbacks before being greenlit in the fourth quarter. The 15-song album features guest appearances from Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, BJ The Chicago Kid and more, and includes singles “Gorgeous,” “Outta Da Blue” and “Another Part of Me” with Jhene Aiko .

BossMan Dlow Drops Dlow Curry Album
BossMan Dlow is in the running for Hip Hop New Artist of the Year after breaking out in 2024 with singles like “Get in With Me” and “Mr. Pot Scaper.” He concluded 2024 with the release of his debut album “Dlow Curry”. The Florida rapper gives fans 20 tracks on the new album, which includes guest appearances from Lil Baby, GloRilla, French Montana, NoCap and more. The new album follows March’s mixtape Mr. Beat the Road.
Fat Joe releases “The World Changed on Me” album
In recent years, Fat Joe has been exploring other avenues, including television and podcasts. The veteran Bronx rapper is back with his first solo album in 14 years, The World Changed on Me. The LP has a total of 11 songs, guest appearances include DJ Khaled, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Remy Ma, Chris Rock, Aries Spears, Tuggawar, etc., and producers include Cool & Dre, Don Cannon, etc. Don Cartagena’s last project was DJ Drama’s What Could Big Do 2021.
