The long-awaited new album from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, Missionary is finally here.
The pair had been working on the project for several years, and fans were almost bummed until they decided to officially announce a release date a few months ago.
Although they’ve stayed in touch over the years, swapping bars and beats on albums like Dre’s 2015’s Compton and Snoop’s 2006’s Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, Missionary marks their first full collaboration in nearly three decades. The highly anticipated album’s title is an obvious reference to the 1993 album Doggystyle, the sequel to the classic album.
Missionary features members such as 50 Cent, Eminem (both on the same song “Gunz N Smoke”), Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, Jhene Aiko, BJ The Chicago (2 songs), Sting and more, including his regular collaborator Dem Jointz and coco salai. Of course, the album was entirely produced by Dre, and the good doctor also sang on a few songs.
