Los Angeles County authorities Smokey Robinson charged Los Angeles County authorities with criminal investigations at his home in California and Nevada.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed its Special Victims Bureau has opened an active case for allegations involving nearly two decades.
The incident involved multiple locations, including Chatsworth in Robinson, Bell Canyon and Las Vegas properties.
The criminal investigation was a civil lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this year.
The women – three former housekeepers and a personal assistant, also served as chefs and hairdressers – were repeatedly attacked by Lege Robinson between 2006 and 2024.
Attacks usually occur when his wife, Frances Robinson, are not present. One plaintiff claimed she was raped at least 23 times. Another said she was attacked more than 20 times during her 12 years of work.
According to the lawsuit, Robinson allegedly summoned the women to a private area of the house, exposed herself and coerced them to have sex.
A woman said she was raped in both the laundry room and the garage.
The lawsuit also claimed that Frances Robinson was aware of the abuse and did not intervene, which led to what the plaintiff called a hostile work environment.
Women are seeking $50 million in losses. Robinson’s legal team dismissed the allegations completely wrong.
“They have made mean, false allegations against the Robinsons in an attempt to attract the public as an unexpected participant in the media circus they are trying to create,” his lawyer said.
Despite civil cases, Robinson’s lawyers welcome criminal investigations.
As of Thursday (May 15), no charges have been filed. Law enforcement has not released further details on the grounds that the case continues.
