Skyzoo does just that on his new album Keep Me Company. This is his ninth solo work and his first project of 2024. Unless you count his 2023 deluxe edition of “The Heart of a Saint.” It’s been a year of plenty of records, both mainstream and underground, and some are destined to get noticed. Keep Me Company will probably do the same thing, especially if it drops a month before 2025 begins. But we certainly won’t forget Skyzoo’s performance on this 13-track list. Released by Old Soul Music and First Generation Rich, this Brooklyn, NY based act gets very personal and revolves around personal growth.
Skyzoo breaks it down well for every potential and current listener. “The new album is now officially out. An album about growing up, as an artist, as a listener, as a leader, just growing up. Feeling alone in that growth spurt, thinking maybe you’re wrong because you’re The only one who sees things that way is you do it and then you realize that other people think the way you do and realize you’re not alone and that’s when you realize “Oh, you feel the same way? “Yes, man, come stay with me.” Our words cannot do justice to the tape. Skyzoo suggests that you just have to listen to it yourself a few times.
