On Friday (May 10), Shaquille O’Neal made a surprise addition to a slew of diss tracks set to be released in 2024. Shaq takes aim at athlete-turned-talking guru Shannon Sharpe in a new song as the two feud over Nikola Jokic’s interview.
“Now I’ve had enough,” Shaq declared in the Instagram caption of his diss song. “If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the Bahamas crib. Wow, what a week, first I found out they didn’t love me, now…you can never break indestructible. Anyone who knows us if you don’t call me, I would never sit down.
Shaq backed away from that comment in response to Sharp’s accusation that the basketball superstar is jealous of Jokic, who won his third NBA MVP award. Former MVP Shaq admitted in an interview with Jokic that he thinks Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should win the award.
Sharp believes Shaq is bitter about not winning more MVPs and being ignored in the “greatest of all time” discussion. Shaq defended himself and dissed Sharpe, one of the elite tight ends in NFL history.
“You think I support @shai out of jealousy??” Shaq wrote on Instagram. “Shows how smart you are and how you can say anything to get clicks. So here’s some clickbait for you. If you’re not in the top ten in your profession, then you can’t talk about me. Don’t forget I know What did you do to get to where you are now. I’m jealous haha it sounds like you’re jealous we don’t believe you in case you forget. Already. 4 ring three finals mvp top 50 and top 75 frankly all this new success you’ve had and you’re still under my leadership… #g14classification I have it, you don’t, not in my career. .Debating with your goat, never wanting to be a goat, I want to be you should greet me as the most dominant person ever #theapexpredator.
Sharp said he never claimed to be as great as Shaq. Sharp insisted there was no dispute with Shaq but questioned the former Lakers star’s work ethic.
