Scarface pays tribute to Jay-Z and DJ Khaled as he helped him in 2020 when he suffered a health panic.
Houston rap legend has suffered a series of health problems in recent years, but covid and kidney failure occurred five years ago.
Scarface said at Shay Shay Club: “So you remember when I had Covid and kidney failure and all of that, Jay-Z brought a lifeline to me. DJ Khaled cast a lifeline for me. So no one can tell me the shit about Jay-Z and DJ Khaled because they grabbed me by my lifeline.
“I’m grateful, do you know what I mean?’ Because I don’t have a job. So yelled to Hov and DJ Khaled. When I talked to Jay-Z, I called him “the guardian of culture” because he was that big brother.”
Scarface also underwent heart surgery last year, which he said brought him close to death.
In an Instagram post, Geto Boys Legend shared that he went to the hospital for a scheduled surgery last summer to repair the aortic aneurysm and a “leakage valve”, but when the doctor opened him up, “crazy things happened.”
In addition to the photos of him and his surgeon Dr. Andrea Quarti, he wrote: “This is a man, one of the most popular surgeons in the world, when I was told ‘this doctor is hard to get’ he is the best, if not one of the best people.
“When I woke up to fix something crazy with a arranged aortic aneurysm and leaky valve, something crazy happened and when he let me open my aneurysm tear my aorta (must die).
Fortunately for the facial mob, the near-fatal discovery did not exceed Dr. Quarti’s surgical ability.
“[B]ut nope, not surprising to him, I woke up after 24 hours+.
“He looked up at heaven, he did [one finger in the air emoji] Wow, again I’m grateful. ”
Scarface also needs a new kidney, which is donated by his son.
