Safaree recalls breakup with Nicki Minaj
On Tuesday (July 9), we at the Miami Podcast shared a preview of their upcoming interview with Safaree Samuels. In the clip (shown below), Nicki’s ex opens up about how he felt after splitting from Nicki in 2014.
“I’m not even going to sugarcoat it. I was with Nikki and we broke up. Her fans and some people just want it to be like, ‘Well, they’re not together anymore. Fuck it, let it go.’ Nothing,” Safaree says in the video below. “Let him disintegrate, let him disappear, whatever. But nine, ten years later – ten, fifteen TV shows later. Then a lot of music came out. Then it closed – and I’m still here. Some people don’t like it. so.
He went on to say that the years after the breakup were dark and overwhelming. “When Nikki and I first broke up, she got with Mick and they were like the greatest people in the world and we were complaining to each other. You have to think I have two of the greatest people in the world. People are against me,” he continued. “That means everyone is going to be against me. So no one wants to be around me. No one wants to work with me, or no one wants to work with me. So that makes everything difficult, and that’s for me A dark time”.

Safaree and Meek Mill Beef
Safaree dated Nicki Minaj from 2000 to 2014, after which she began a relationship with Meek Mill. Their relationship ended in 2017.
In March of that year, Safaree claimed that Nicki and Mick had started dating before they broke up. Months later, Safaree claimed he was roughed up by members of the Dreamers outside a party hosted by DJ Khaled in West Hollywood, California. A car was attacked as it came out. In 2018, Safaree insisted the beef was over.
