The slant-faced killer (none other than Robo Conway) is back with a new album, and this time he doesn’t mince words.
The day before the album was released, Conway declared on Instagram that he knew a lot of music was being released, but he assured you “it ain’t f**king! (SFK).” Well, use your own judgment and check out the projects here!
Mind you, this happened during a unique time in hip-hop; with Drake and Kendrick releasing back-to-back (arguably the most) landmark hip-hop albums of this generation, Conway now brings an unapologetic and shameless confidence to his albums.
Previously, the rapper released a trailer for the album, which seemed to indicate the theme of the concept album. Based on Conway’s monologue in French over a montage of memories, the narrator suggests that the album is “the story of a man falling fifty stories,” describing the man’s attitude during his free fall. The man in the story is consistently optimistic, walking through each floor with the reassuring thought: “So far, so good.” The narrator does drive this point home in a crescendo, justifying this attitude with a lesson about what really matters. It’s not the fall, it’s how you land. This begs the question – did the album release go smoothly?
