Rio Da Yung OG has been working on releasing RIO FREE for several months. The rapper is making sure all eyes are on him as he drops a stellar single in the final months of 2024. Well, now the EP has arrived and it’s every bit as good as fans could have hoped. The EP has a total of 10 songs, which is the perfect number for Rio Da Yung OG to showcase his lyrical skills. This gives him plenty of room to show off all he can do without being overly popular.
Leo showed his best side in the opening game. “Yung OGee” has a great instrument that sounds expensive and aggressive. Rio does his thing, doling out the bars in a way that never feels particularly rushed. “Shake Back” and “Do Dat” keep the same rhythm and feel, but they do it well. If you identify with this particular beat, you’ll love this EP. If you don’t, there’s absolutely nothing here for you. All 10 songs have the same menacing energy, yet are so concise and powerful it’s so effective. Rio knows what his fans want, and RIO FREE delivers. Be sure to listen to “Uncle Sam” and the title track.
