Rich the Kid has already struck gold with “Gimme a Second.” The powerful single sounds slick and nocturnal, with Peso Pluma’s verse introducing Rich to a whole new audience. It’s hard to imagine a sequel matching the song’s lightning-in-a-bottle feel. Somehow, Rich the Kid managed to top it. The rapper recruited Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign, who are now essentially a duo, to add energy to the single “Gimme a Second 2.”
Thanks to the rich kids. He didn’t just take two new artists and have them play the same instrument. He debuted “Gimme a Second 2,” a new sound reminiscent of Yeezus-era Kanye West. There’s an eerie choir in the background, while the hard drum patterns buried in the original mix are pushed to the front. This is good for the song. Rich the Kid sounds more aggressive in his lyrics, but the real scene-stealer is Kanye. The controversial rapper’s best lyrical moments are behind him, but he still knows how to be memorable. “A girl named Dallas, sent a hundred texts,” he said. “Before I give my ass my blessing. I need to see if sex is good, I’m a sexist.” West’s beat is reminiscent of his cover of Rick Ross’ single “Sanctified,” which was A good thing. It worked then and it works now.

I don’t care about that shit, I’m disrespectful
I got hate as hell last time
It’s like I’m not smart
real bodies but they’re fake
Start traveling, I have a wonderful date
