Southern horror hardcore supergroup The Horde, consisting of Boondox and Bukshot, are back with a new extended edition. One is from Covington, Georgia, and signed with Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records in the mid to late 2000s; the other has founded the independent hip-hop label Mobstyle Music since 1997 and joined Louisville, Kentucky. The two began working together for more than a decade, after Scarecrow left PSY to form his own Krimson Crow Entertainment, a collaboration they continued after the release of their fourth album Abaddon and eventually signed with Majik Ninja Entertainment a few years later, both on their first two mixtapes Hell’s Kitchen and Paradigm Shift as well as their debut EP Overdrive and even their collaboration with Groundlavenas. In a few days, their debut album The End is Nigh will celebrate its third anniversary on Paradigm Sync! Announces that some of Redath’s rebels have turned traitor.
“Mobsta Party” by Zodiac MPrint brings the four members together for an instrumental jam on the classic 2Pac single “2 of Amerika’z Most Wanted” sung by WWE Hall of Famer and current Death Row Records boss Snoop Dogg, while “Headshots” by Siamese Goat God takes a funkier shit beat in style. After jamming “In da Club” and “I’m Bout It, Bout It” by Master P with Mia
If you’re familiar with Psychopathic Rydas’ work when Boondox was signed to the street-running record label alongside Eastside Ninjas, then you should probably know what you’re getting into with Rydas Rebels: Gone Rogue and consider it to be on par with the average Rydas albums MNE put out in early 2020. Boondox and Bukshot continue the gangster rap theme of Paradigm Sync! It’s just that the guest list isn’t all that impressive, and the beat they rap over makes me want to listen to their original version.
Score: 5/10
