Artists are not recognized every day for their success outside of music. In fact, there is an unusual dichotomy between rappers and what they celebrate. While most of the major players in hip-hop today are working hard, there are some new milestones in their careers, some actions have achieved a foundation through community advocacy and charitable donations that have an impact beyond music. In this way, many cities across the United States have awarded rappers their efforts to honor their efforts by coveted city keys, or named them for the entire day afterwards.
At the end of 2022, Lil Baby received a public nod from his hometown. The Grammy Award-winning rapper took to Instagram to break the news about the city of Atlanta’s formal announcement of Dominic’s “Lil Baby” day, in which they recognize “his successful career and generous philanthropy.” Now, November 13 will forever be called the day that advocates for his raising him.
In a spirit of celebrating the achievements of the rapper and contributions to society, many other cities respect the days for some of the most popular talents. Tennessee Senator Katrina Robinson announced as Adolph “Young Dolph” Jr. Jr. Days on November 17 during a 2021 celebration of life. Dolph’s days are formally recognized in both Tennessee and Georgia, encouraging social goodwill and kindness across the country, which is a benefit of Dolph.
Apart from Lil Baby and Young Dolph, there are more packaging here. Similarly, hip-hop icons such as Drake, Kanye West, the entire Wu-Tang Clan also have honor days. Below is a complete list of all behaviors (old and new) in homes and other major cities around the world.
