Wu Tang Legend Raekwon recently worked with NYC Legend Nas. But they leaked the track version together, “Omerta” said the head of hip Hop worldwide, and discussed the possibility of Diss. More importantly, for many, it seems that Nas fired Jim Jones.
Now, it’s not the fault of fans to make a leap in assumptions, especially given the controversial Joe and Jada interview, Jim Jones makes a 20-something online life for the NAS vs Jim Jones comparison. But the moment Jim Jones started the conversation, it became a comment on his peers, not online fan discussion.
The way Jim Jones started the conversation also overlooked a lot of people: through flowers given to Nas, and when Jim was in the 11th grade, Nas was his inspiration for word games and style. On the other hand, he doubled down in the comparison, with a competitive spirit, he said that “the idol becomes a competitor.”
But what he said makes more sense like him, and his son didn’t know that NAS records were where things started to become too direct. Of course, assume that NAS will feel some way about this.
But the truth is: NAS has not retaliated or responded to Jim Jones’s so-called snub. The legend seems quite unpopular, and now, Raekwon himself clears the air. Recently, Raekwon settled the matter on the spot once and for all and reiterated his good relationship with Jim Jones.
He even revealed that the verse was scrapped because Nas wrote it before the interview and because he could foresee people misunderstood the words to Jim Jones. If one thing that could really tell the whole fiasco was that these legends were once again true and spoke their thoughts.
Raekwon’s new album The Emperor’s New Clothes is everywhere now.
