Queen rapper YP DA YG was shot dead in a Queens district in Jamaica, and the Queens home ended in a late-night family debate after murder suicide related to a real estate dispute.
The 37-year-old rapper, born in Prince McFarlane, was found dead and died at a gunshot wound at a residence near 116th Road near 155th Street at midnight Friday, Oct. 3, according to the New York Police Department.
McFarlane’s 41-year-old nephew reportedly opened the gun after the fatal shooting. He was taken to Jamaica hospital but died of injuries. A gun was found at the scene.
Relatives told the New York Daily News that the deadly encounter stemmed from a debate about the sale of the family’s home, which recently put about $600,000 in the market.
Uncle, who hopes to remain anonymous, said the Sagittarius may have been at his home on Road 116 near 155th Street, with his cousin’s body for several hours before taking his life off the upstairs hallway. The uncle lives in the basement and found the young man’s body around 11:45 pm on Friday.
McFarlane established his name on the local Queens Trap Music Tour under the nickname YP DA YG.
His presence on social media includes photos with 50 cents, Nicki Minaj and other New York rappers and pours in after his death spread.

Investigators are still reviewing the case, but authorities confirm they are not looking for other suspects.
