Queen Latifah will head to Fort Lauderdale Beach on March 21 to headline the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s 21st Annual Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival.
The Grammy Award-winning hip-hop legend will perform for thousands of attendees at 12:30 p.m. in support of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention services in South Florida.
The multi-talented entertainer previously joined AHF in 2016 when she performed with Common during the Keep the Promise concert and parade in Durban, South Africa.
That international event called for increased AIDS funding and stronger commitments to end the global epidemic.
“I am excited to continue to add my voice to the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS. We all must continue to raise our voices and funds to ensure that awareness and prevention services are available to all,” said Queen Latifah.
The Waterfront Music Festival begins at 8:00am with the venue opening and the official ceremony starting at 9:45am. Recording artist Rinasere will begin the musical performance at 11:30am, followed by Queen Latifah.
AHF Southern Bureau Chief Tracy Jones stressed the region’s urgent need for continued support.
“We are honored to have Queen Latifah join us again and use her star power to help raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS. Now more than ever, we need to ensure that service organizations serving at-risk populations receive the support they need to continue the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
South Florida faces particularly challenging HIV statistics, making this fundraising effort critical.
The Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach/Sunrise metropolitan area ranks No. 1 among U.S. cities with the highest rates of HIV/AIDS, according to the latest health data.
Miami-Dade and Broward counties combined house more than 51,000 people living with HIV.
The 21st annual event continues to raise millions of dollars for local nonprofit HIV/AIDS service organizations serving people living with HIV throughout South Florida.
Beneficiaries include Afro Pride Florida, Broward House, Equality Florida, The Pride Center at Equality Park and 11 other community organizations.
The festival is held at 1100 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, and registration is available online. AHF Pharmacy, FedEx and Wells Fargo are sponsors of the 2026 event.
