Pusha T sparked backlash over fatherhood and double standards with an Instagram post celebrating the birth of his second child with wife Virginia Williams. The Clipse rapper’s message was meant to honor his spouse, but instead sparked accusations of parental neglect.
@babyginny, thank you for my second son…” he wrote. “I hope you continue the tradition and never teach me how to change a diaper, prepare meals, suck snot out of my nose, or do any of the things a super mom would do. You make things so much easier for me and I love and appreciate everything you do. See you in the spring of 2026, my children. “

The post quickly sparked debate, with some accusing the Virginia native of bragging about avoiding basic child care. Critics called him a “deadbeat dad” and saw it as a tone-deaf celebration of disengagement.
The controversy is particularly poignant given Pusha’s own lyrical history. In his 2018 diss track “The Story of Adidon,” he famously accused Drake of being an absentee father, referring to the Canadian star’s then-secret son Adonis as “Deadbeat ass Dad.”
Now, things have changed. The Grammy-nominated host, known for his sharp criticism and no-nonsense persona, now finds himself under the same microscope he once targeted others.
Pusha T, whose real name is Terrence Thornton, married Virginia Williams in 2018. The couple welcomed their first child in 2020. Despite the rapper’s public career, his family life has largely stayed out of the spotlight.

While some argued his message was a light-hearted acknowledgment of his wife’s devotion, others found it a disturbing admission. He responded on Twitter (X), leaving a series of laughing emojis under a post discussing the “controversy.”
The couple is expecting their second son in the spring of 2026.
