Pras Michel, who dreams of presidential leniency from prison after his high-profile blackmail beliefs, now turns to Donald Trump for help again.
The 52-year-old Grammy-winning rapper spoke frankly to TMZ from his prison cell, from the legendary hip-hop trio Fugees, recently admitted that he and his legal team are actively seeking President Trump’s pardon after he and his legal team were convicted in 2023 in a 2023 amid a $100 million blackmail scandal.
Michel made it clear that “it’s not a secret, we are pardoning.” He publicly acknowledged his hopes were based on the new president.
When TMZ asked him if he had specific information about the commander-in-chief, Michelle did not hesitate to claim to be positive about Trump.
“At the end of the day, there’s always going to love any president anyway, he’s the current president, you know, look at him,” Michel explained. “All we can do is hope, you know, wish him all the best, we all have to play our role…it’s important to him and everything he goes on and obviously I hope he’s obviously got to know me.”
Michel also highlighted the timing and pointed out that Trump’s presidency is barely ongoing.
Michelle said optimistically: “It’s just something, the number of days in his sixties, so you know, we can only stand by him.”
The rapper’s current situation is far from his hip-hop heyday, a sign of the ranking hits and stars around the world.
Earlier this year, Michelle was convicted on ten counts, including conspiracy and as an unregistered foreign agent, and after three weeks of high-stakes trial, he participated in a multimillion-dollar international program.
Now, while awaiting a judgment, Michelle’s future is stable in balance. The irony of Michelle’s current dilemma.
He was convicted of being caught in the 1MDB scandal involving theft of billions of dollars by the Malaysian government.
