No Jumper and Adam22’s controversial interview with Pop Smoke’s killer Blockstar has sparked backlash online for being insensitive and de-platforming. For those unaware, authorities have charged four people in connection with the rapper’s 2020 murder, three of whom (including Blockstar) were minors at the time of the crime. Although they were sentenced as juveniles, with Blockstar serving several years and recently being released, Corey Walker is awaiting trial as the only adult defendant. In addition, the killer claimed that the robbery at Pope’s Hollywood Hills mansion was not an elaborate or deadly plan and they thought no one would be home. Not only that, he also refused to clarify which defendant was the shooter.
“I don’t regret anything,” Blockstar said of Pop Smoke’s death. “This shouldn’t have happened, but I don’t regret it. If I could go back, I would go back. But I don’t regret it. I die every day. [Pop Smoke] is rapping about it. All types of shit so, I have no regrets about it. My condolences to the family. I wish it had never happened. But…I don’t regret it.
Pop Smoke Alleged No Jumper Killer
“Growing up, I just – my people, my family told me, ‘You’re not sorry for shit,'” Blockstar continued about Pop Smoke’s murder. “‘Whatever you do, you do it for a reason and stick with it.’ No one sent us to do this. This is disinformation. [was] Intention to cause harm. No one… We were just kids — just kids from the bottom. and [there was] Too much movement… movement for everyone. There’s so much going on. There is so much going on. This is not intentional.
Blockstar believed his sentence was too light, but he did not complain or suggest stricter consequences for his actions. As for the Pop Smoke murder trial, Corey Walker failed to secure plea negotiations, so authorities decided to postpone the case. We don’t know if Blockstar will play a key role in this too, or if he can put this all behind him. Well, to an extent; of course, jumping on a media platform to talk about a murder isn’t exactly what many would call “moving on.”
