Polo G’s colleagues went to great lengths to hold back an overeager photographer so he couldn’t snap a photo of the rapper leaving the pitch.
Chaos footage shows Polo G arguing with photographer
On Thursday (April 11), the New York Post spotted Polo G leaving Manhattan Criminal Court in New York City after being charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. As the Chicago rapper walked to his car, an overzealous photographer got too close to the Polo G for his friend’s liking. Then, when they tried to take a picture of Polo, the colleague started blocking the photographers and blocking their faces.
“What are you doing?” someone asked, as the colleague tried to stop him by dancing around the photographer.
Polo G was held on $25,000 cash bail after his arraignment. Prosecutors had tried to argue with Judge Kevin McGrath that Polo G was a flight risk and brought up the rapper’s prior legal issues, including misdemeanor convictions. Polo G’s next court date is June 4, when the rapper can appear virtually.
“This guy is 100 percent serious about his job and his professionalism,” said Stacey Richman, Polo G’s attorney. “He has absolutely no motivation to run away because he has a career that he’s built.”
XXL has contacted Polo G’s attorney for further comment.
