Busta Rhymes is back with a brand new project. I encourage everyone to check out his latest artwork. Earlier this week, Dungeon Dragons hosted an exclusive listening session attended by industry insiders, musicians, journalists and influencers. Interestingly, the event was held at Quad Studios in New York City, the same building where the infamous 2Pac was filmed.
But on this night, the Quad was on the map for an entirely different reason. Let’s break it down. Throughout the evening, the mood was all about the music. Busta insisted that everyone give the album their full attention. He paused the music repeatedly to make sure the conversation stopped and he listened. Several of his friends got it too.
During the event, Busta Rhymes expressed his great love and respect for icons such as Sway, Datwon Thomas and Grandmaster Caz. He also expressed some gratitude to his team members.
Now, things have taken an unexpected turn. When the event ended and people started leaving, the police showed up. Upstairs, music is still playing and people are enjoying the atmosphere. But what about outside? There were about 20 police officers on site, which was scary. The way they appear, you might think something more dramatic is happening. Conservation groups around Bus-A-Bus took action.
Downstairs, some bold women took the initiative to intercept the police and prevent them from going upstairs. I’m not even sure Busta knew what was going on, but these women were trying to de-escalate the situation. Fortunately, one of them managed to reason with the police and convince them to stand down. It was a tense moment, but a potential disaster was averted.
As to why the police were there? This part is unclear and I don’t want to spread misinformation. There are a lot of rumors floating around in the media, but I’ll leave the speculation to them. For all I know, an officer may have gone upstairs, but that didn’t have any major consequences.
Anyway, here’s a video of what it looked like once everything settled down. Enjoy and don’t forget to try Busta’s new album.
