The PnB Rock murder suspect was found guilty on all charges after a relatively short period of deliberations.
According to “Rolling Stone”, Freddie Trone was found guilty of felony murder, two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy during a court hearing on Wednesday (August 7). Thron, the father of the 17-year-old gunman and the boy’s getaway driver, has been deemed unfit to stand trial.
He conspired shortly before the murder with co-suspect Tremont Jones, who was also found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy.
The jury of four women and eight men took less than four hours to reach its decision.
After the verdict, PnB Rock’s mother, Deanna Allen, said in a statement to Rolling Stone: “I’m so happy. I wanted to jump up and scream, ‘Hallelujah.’ “I’m glad it was quick. We got justice for Rakeem. I feel better knowing they will be behind bars for a long time.”
Trone’s attorney argued there was no evidence his client was at the crime scene, but jury foreman Edwin Lowo noted that surveillance footage showed something different.
“We could clearly see it was him,” Lovo said.
It’s also worth noting that a social media post by the rapper’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang, about her time at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant was initially believed to be the cause of Rock’s murder ,but it is not the truth.
“As far as timing goes, that doesn’t seem to make sense,” Lovo said.
Nicki Minaj and others said Rock’s girlfriend acted in poor judgment when she shared her location online before the shooting.
“After Pop Smoke, there’s no way that we as rappers or our loved ones would still be posting the location of our whereabouts. Showing waffles and some fried chicken?” she wrote on Instagram. “It was a pleasure working with him. Kudos to him Condolences to the mother and family. This makes me feel sick. #SIP #PnbRock.
However, Cardi B stood up for Sibounheuang at the time and said: “I highly doubt Nikkas is looking at PMB’s baby mama IG. He’s in a terrible position and people are left out plotting. It’s very irresponsible to blame her for something so tragic and inconsiderate. We owe her and his family nothing but love at this time.
