Paul Wall shared a Pimp C story, adding another layer of lore to the late rapper’s legend that would likely make T-Pain laugh out loud if he caught wind of it.
During a recent interview with Boss Talk 101 in Houston, The People’s Champ lyricist shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story about the beloved UGK rapper, recalling Pimp C’s performance on T-Pain’s remix of “# #》How to laugh at him jokingly while filming the film.
Paul Wall uses his infectious, energetic vernacular and storytelling skills to set the scene for what he describes as an unforgettable experience set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. He first introduced Pimp C in the most appropriate and exaggerated way.
“I’ll never forget the video shoot,” Paul Wall said. “We’re in Miami. You know, it’s 120 degrees in the summer. Here comes Pimp C wearing this fur coat.
“You’re all in that square.”

Paul Wall described the absurdity of the situation and explained how he was covered in sweat while Pimp C acted cool as a cucumber.
“I put on whatever clothes I wore, and you can see in the video, I was sweating in church,” he said with a laugh. “But Pimp C, there wasn’t a drop of sweat on him. He also got a full fur coat. He probably had a hoodie underneath as well. He probably had two fur coats on.
“We’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, do you have a window in the back or something?'” he teased Pimp C, “because you don’t sweat at all.”
Wall then talked about how he not only walks the talk, but also talks about it. He said everyone in the room fell apart when the UGK rapper started mocking Paul Wall and other artists over the song’s romantic themes.
“Pimp C comes over and he’s like, ‘Yeah, man, you’re all talking bullshit, man,'” and he emulates Pimp C’s larger-than-life personality, which is rooted in his alter ego as a pimp. “Y’all out there talking about, oh, falling in love with a stripper. Man, I’m not that guy. Man, I’m that pimp’s ###.
Paul Wall ends this hilarious story by admitting that Pimp C’s verse strongly reflects his serious attitude. “He was literally singing his poetry,” he said. “You know, we fell in love with a stripper and he said, ‘No, you’re all in love with my stripper.'”
Unfortunately, Pimp C passed away in 2007, two years after the “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)” remix was released. However, Pimp C was able to leave behind a strong legacy of effortless cool, showcased through iconic hip-hop collaborations like “Intl’ Player’s Anthem” with Outkast and “Big Pimpin'” with JAY-Z status as an artist.
