A woman named Talia Jones was detained in Minneapolis on Tuesday (July 15) by the U.S. Marshal for shooting in January by Patrick Houston Jr.
Jones was wanted for promoting first-degree murder and allegedly refused to arrest her when authorities found her. “She did not go quietly,” the U.S. Marshal Service said in a statement. Officials said she fought back physically and tried to avoid being detained.
The Memphis Police Department issued a warrant for Jones’ arrest on June 27, nearly six months after Houston Jr., shot dead at the intersection of Ketchum Road and Long Street near Charjean Park near Imogene Heights. According to the department’s Twitter (X) post, officers arrived at the scene around 1:15 p.m. on January 10 and found a small wound in Houston died of gunshot wounds.
More details about the motivation or environment around the shooting have been released.
Houston Jr.’s obedience confirmed that he is 22 years old. A memorial service was held at the MJ Edwards Eral Funeral Home in Memphis on January 25 and buried in the Memphis Memory Garden.
Project Pat was born in Patrick Earl Houston and is known for his three mafia and solo careers after his debut album Ghetty Green in 1999. He has gained national attention with his 2000 hit “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” and has since worked with artists like Drake, Rick Ross and Denzel Curry.
After his son passed away, Pat Proje Proje posted on Instagram: “Boy, I thank God for another day. DJ Paul, a founding member of three 6 mafia, responded with a series of prayer emojis.
The Pat Project now focuses most of its time on prison ministry and runs the GO Foundation, which aims to provide outreach and rehabilitation for incarcerated people.
Jones remains in custody after being arrested in Minnesota.
