Outkast is the legendary MCSA André3000 and Big Boi duo – playing Atlanta hip-hop music on the map. Since the early 1990s, albums such as Southern Playalisticadillacmuzik and Atliens have indefinitely “There’s something to say.”
It all started with the basement of Rico Wade’s mother’s house, nicknamed the dungeon. There, and his organized brothers of Noz sleepy brown and Ray Murray, Wade made lasting masterpieces, not only Outkast, but also for Goodie Mob, TLC and more.
On Friday (March 14), Outkast uploaded their relationship with Atlanta, which included some rare shots, including three stacks and a big BOI, and was interviewed by Fab Firf Firef Freddy! MTV rap.
At the time, only 19, Dre swung the white kangaroo and talked about the “ambient” in the studio, while Daddy Fat Sax talked about some of his influences, including Eric B. & Rakim and Kurtis Blow, as well as their companions, Candy Mob and Soul Society.

Founded in 1992 in 1992, André3000 and Big Boi as high school students, Outkast rose rapidly two years later when they released the organized Noize production of Southern Playalisticalisticalisticalisticalisticalacmuzik.
Combining Southern hip-hop, funk, psychedelic and jazz, their music is an innovative sound full of complex lyricism. Outkast released six studio albums during their time together, and in the process it received positive reviews and commercial success.
Their 1998 album Aquemini frees hip-hop from any perceived constraints by exploring more diverse and experimental sounds. Outkast’s influence was even more evident under the 2003 dual album Speaker/Love, which won Album of the Year at the 46th Grammy Awards and received Diamond Certification.
A lot has changed since Outkast’s last album, Idlewild in 2006. André and Big Boi had their last Outkast tour in 2014 and they rarely had the chance to reunite (although they remain close friends).
Three Stacks released an experimental jazz album New Blue Sun in 2023 and won the Grammy and Best Alternative Jazz Album category for Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony. The opening track, “I swear, I really want to make a ‘rap’ album, but it was actually the wind blowing me this time,” was nominated for “Best Instrumental Work.”
Big Boi continues to tour with Sleepy Brown and other members of the Dungeon family, although they have to do a lot of mourning in recent months. Rico Wade died suddenly in April 2024 from a heart attack, six months later, his mother, Beatrice Wade.
