Outkast has been announced as one of the inductees in the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class in 2025.
Outkast is the first act of the Hall of Fame
On Sunday (April 27), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced 2025 inductees. The course was broadcast live by Ryan Seacrest in American Idol’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Outkast lays off employees after its first vote. Other inductees include Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and White Stripes.
Other acts that will receive the award at this year’s ceremony include Salt N Peppa, who will be awarded the Music Influence Award along with Warren Zevon. Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye will receive the Music Excellence Award, while Lenny Waronker will be the sole winner of the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Big Boi and Andre 3000 Outkast celebrated the news with the graphics they shared on their Group X account. The clip was scored by the duo’s single “Atliens” and was accompanied by photos of the rapper as well as the message “Thank you.”
The induction ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on November 8, 2025 and will be broadcast live on Disney+.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rapper
Outkast will join an increasing list of rappers who have been selected for Rock Hall. The list includes Jay-Z, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Beastie Boys, NWA, the infamous Big and others. Last year, a tribe called Quest was the latest rapper.
