Normani reveals how her whirlwind romance with NFL star DK Metcalf has been integrated into the surprise engagement announced by the couple earlier this year.
In a recent appearance at Jennifer Hudson show, the former fifth-time harmonizer singer opened up a complex serial about the complex events that led to Metcalf. Metcalf and Normani first announced their engagement at a March 13 press conference when she made her debut in an extensive deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Normani publicly admitted that she absolutely had no idea about the issue when she broke down how Egypt was together.
“I definitely don’t know,” Normany said. “That’s my forgetting, that’s me.”
What Normani later learned was that Metcalf originally planned to propose a year ago on a trip to Turks and Caicos. She recalls that he suggested they kick their family out, which she thinks was just a good vacation.
“I think it’s for holidays,” she said.
But Metcalf did not pass through it, but made a heartfelt decision. Normani revealed that he chose to refuse so that her music has its own moment.
“He waited because my album was released, so he didn’t want me to blind that special moment,” she explained.
Even when the time came, Normany still didn’t see it coming. In fact, he thinks his family is on spring break and birthday celebrations.
“It’s his sister’s birthday, his cousin’s birthday – I took them to the gallery in Houston and took them to all the food in Texas,” she said. “We went to the rodeo and I was late…I was sad because I thought, ‘dang, I hope I didn’t ruin the surprise. It’s her birthday.”

But, she thought Metcalf’s sister’s birthday party was surprising and ultimately surprised herself.
“I thought it was a birthday surprise, and I thought I was surprised,” Normany said with a smile. “But everyone else knows…but I’m surprised.”
That moment is a violinist, pianist and beautiful flowers – Normani says, who says how much effort her fiancé puts in the day.
She shared: “He really did it for me.”
While reflecting on the introduction of interrelationships with Russell and Ciala Wilson, Normany revealed that the matchmaker between her and Metcalf was actually a long, years-long process.
“She kept telling me that she was like, ‘There was a guy,’ literally, for over two years.”
Metcalf saw Normani in the Seahawks locker room’s “Motivation” video, while the rest was “real history.”
Normani mentioned that she was in a relationship when she was first introduced, admitting that while the timing was incorrect at first, everything ended up getting better.
“When the time comes, the time is right, God puts all of this together, and the alignment is perfect,” she said.
