NORE and Akon may have never collaborated, but they have at least one thing in common: being accused of having “wigs.”
The two artists shared a laugh at the 2024 BET Awards, and the Drink Champions host brought up the topic while interviewing Akon on the red carpet.
“They think you and I have wigs,” Noel told the “Locked Up” hitmaker after taking off his hat to reveal his crisp Caesar hairstyle. “They’re jealous of the waves!”
“We went to Africa, not Turkey,” the “Superthug” rapper joked after Akon and NORE hand-twisted waves together.

Despite much speculation about his hair transformation, NORE insists his new dome is all-natural.
Back in April, the Capone-N-Noreaga MC silenced the doubters (namely his good friend Fat Joe) by proving that his hair was, in fact, real.
The Queens, New York, native shared a video of Joey Crack checking out his thick hair on Instagram, marking a drastic change from his previous bald look.
The “Lean Back” hitmaker is styling NORE’s hair as the rapper-turned-podcaster repeatedly insists: “It’s real!”
Then the two started dating, and Fat Joe joked about “going to Türkiye” to change his bald spot.
Meanwhile, Akon admitted that he went to Türkiye to get a hair transplant.
The 51-year-old appeared on The Bootleg Kev podcast last year and opened up about the $7,500 surgery.
“Don’t forget, at the beginning [of my career]my entire front [of my hair] It’s loose,” he said. “The painful part [of the procedure] This is the beginning of them numbing you. They put such big needles [stick it in your head] nonstop.
He added: “It’s ridiculous how affordable it is. For what I do, it would have cost me £50 in the US!
