Nicki Minaj previously announced the release of a deluxe edition of her last album, Pink Friday 2, containing 5-8 additional songs.
But now she’s changing her plans. In a surprising statement on Sunday night, the superstar told fans that she would be scrapping the idea of a deluxe edition of GagCityRELOADED, originally scheduled for release on September 13, and instead releasing a brand new album, Pink Friday 3 》.
“I decided not to make “DELUXE to Pink Friday 2″ but to make a new album. I will still add new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] For the remainder of the tour…I will be announcing new dates in the next few weeks. New music is too good to be thrown away in a deluxe album,” she said.
“Last night, the song I recorded was so iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you will. I’m still going to give you some information before the announcement, so don’t worry.
PF3 is about to do exactly what needs to be done. Trust me Babz. I’m so excited. Blessed are you. (Loved by Barbz) and luckily (for Barbz and me), I’ve learned a lot since 12/8/23,” she added in the elaboration.
“PF2 means a lot to me. As my first album as a #PapaBear mama, it’s very special to me for a lot of reasons you don’t know. I put every song on there in a specific order , etc. 1 or 2 songs isn’t a big deal, but 5-7 songs feels a bit sloppy right now (in my humble opinion). This era is so successful, meaningful, satisfying, etc.

Seeing as it’s now a full new album, it will be interesting to see how many songs she includes on it.
