Now that most of us have finally gotten through Drake’s massive 100GB content dump, there’s nearly 100 minutes of new music for you to enjoy.
This week’s New Music Friday features some other blog-era favorites, with Big Sean forming a strong new partnership with Alchemist and rapper Chance reuniting with old friend, Lupe Fias Coe re-formed his near-mythical superband of child resistance.
Hip-hop’s new generation is also very active, with fresh releases from groups like Cash Cobain, Coi Leray and Doechii, while Mary J. Blige and Fabolous are bringing new music to the older crowd.
See the full list of new songs below, and browse the week’s best new albums here.
Big Sean and The Alchemist – “Together Forever”
Produced by: The Alchemist and DJ Khalil
After first collaborating last year on Larry June’s “Palisades, CA,” Big Sean and The Alchemist continue to flex their muscles on this smooth new single from the Detroit rapper’s upcoming album, Better Me Than You chemical reaction. Stick to the end, there will be hidden surprises.
Chance the Rapper feat. Joey Pulpe — “Bad Boys 2”
Produced by: DEX LVL and That Boy Franco
Chance The Rapper and Save Money alum Joey Purp performed a new song from Chano’s long-awaited Star Line alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, performing a rendition of the Buddy Police hit. Just don’t call it an “album.”
Cash Cobain and Leila! feat. Big Sean, Fabolous, Luh Tyler, Rob49, Flo Milli, 6LACK, Kaliii, Anycia, Don Q, YN Jay, Lay Bankz, Kenzo B, Chow Lee and Flee — “Problem”
Producer: Cash Cobain
Back in the day, when songs like The Game’s “One Blood” required a million MCs to remix, New York’s hottest new stars assembled an Avengers-caliber cast for this much-derided (and informative) clip. It would be nice if that number came down early in the summer.
Lupe Fiasco (Child Rebels)—“Shrink”
Produced by: Radiohead
Lupe Fiasco has made good on his promise to “reboot” his Kid Rebels supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell, albeit with a major twist. Bad news: There is no Ye or P. (“Shrink” samples the band’s Kid A classic “Optimistic.”)
Coi Leray — “Not in the store”
Producer: Pharrell
Coi Leray took a page out of 50 Cent’s “window shopper” playbook, showing off her wardrobe and purse to Pharrell’s Jersey Club-style beats. “Not in the Store” benefits from Skateboard P’s partnership with arts and entertainment company Doodles, which will produce an NFT animated film called “Dullsville and The Doodleverse” (Coi voices the film alongside Lil Wayne).
Tory Lanez – “Featherweight” + “F&V”
Produced by: Dose Beats. Majestic Bxndz, Play Picasso, Svdominik and Von Lindex | Absi, ArmoTunez, MIKEWAVVS and Play Picasso
The currently incarcerated Canadian continues his Prison Tapes series for a fourth week with another dual offering showcasing his versatility as a rapper and singer. When Tori isn’t in prison recording new music, the recent high school graduate is busy getting her college degree.
Mary J. Blige feat. Fabulous – “Breathe”
Producer: Sean “S. Dot” Thomas
Two of New York’s finest singers reunite in a gorgeous R&B update of Biggie’s classic “Kick In the Door.”
Duqui feat. Fana Hues — “Sunday Best”
Produced by: Remdora
The TDE diva finds spiritual self-love in her upcoming project Alligator Bites Never Heal (out August 30).
Fivio foreign feat. Kodak Black and Donald Trump — “ONBOA47RD”
Producer: Unable to provide points
It’s no secret that Kodak Black is a huge Trump fan, but now Fivioforeign has become the latest MAGA rapper. “I was on tour when Trump called me/That’s my win, that’s your loss,” he raps. The song even begins with audio from the former president’s 2017 inauguration. Politics aside, this pace is tough.
Reylo Rodriguez — “85 Cutlass”
Produced by: Juko, Eighty8, Saucii and Lil Baby
Another star of 4PF cruises through the highs and lows of the rap star lifestyle in a soulful and powerful production. For some reason, the accompanying video shows a Lamborghini Urus, but not the actual 85 Cutlass.
Joey Orbison feat. Future, Playboi Carti and Lil Yachty — “flex fm (freddit)”
Producer: Joey Orbison
London meets Atlanta on this new song from the British house/dubstep producer. However, “flex fm (freddit)” is more MDMA-driven than Magic City.
Blue and Exile feat. Aloe Blacc – “Love is Blue”
Producer: Exile
The duo behind “Below the Heavens” will release their fourth collaborative album, Love (the) Ominous World, on September 20, and have enlisted old friend Aloe Blacc to help them kick off the release in powerful fashion.
Lil Yachty and Veeze — “Sorry Not Say”

Flying Lotus – “Garmonbozia”
