Dr. Dre wears many hats, including being considered by many to be “hip-hop’s first billionaire” after striking a Beats deal with Apple. Now, however, Dr. Dre has reached the level of the wealth elite according to Forbes’ standards.
The Beats-Apple deal is a monumental milestone for Dre, valued at $3.2 billion. Now, according to a new Forbes ranking, Dre joins “an elite group of celebrities who have recently crossed the three comma threshold” – he is now the sixth musician to make the list, joining Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift.
According to Variety , Del Rey is currently ranked 3,332nd on the world’s richest list, albeit tied with Rihanna and many others.
