Kendrick Lamar’s surprising new song seems to have a big fan following among Nas, who referenced it when congratulating K.Dot on his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show song.
Nasty Nas re-shared Lamar’s Super Bowl announcement on his own Instagram Story on Friday (September 13), adding: “Congratulations to my brother @kendricklamar. Can’t wait to watch the team die!!
Fans are starting to refer to Kendrick’s latest song as “Watch the Party Die,” although its official title (if there is one) has yet to be announced. He released the song via Instagram on Wednesday (September 11).

Of course, Nas congratulated Lamar on the announcement that the West Coast rapper will perform at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, which was announced just this past weekend.
On Sunday (September 8), the NFL announced that K. Dot has been confirmed to headline the Apple Music halftime show for next year’s championship game, which is scheduled to be held on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
“Rap music remains the most influential genre of music ever created,” Lamar said in an official statement. “I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right guy.
In addition to the group’s announcement in partnership with Apple and JAY-Z’s Roc Nation, the former TDE rapper also shared a video clip on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and YouTube – Nas in his message reshared a video clip.
In the video, Kendrick practices with an unseen receiver off-screen. After a few passes, backed by coaching and praise for his players, he shared the big news and subtly referenced his feud with Drake earlier this summer.
“My name is Kendrick Lamar and I’m going to be performing at Super Bowl 59,” he began. “Will you pull up? I hope so! You know this is just a chance to win a championship; there are no two rounds. I don’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
The line “No Turn Two” appears to be a direct callback to a post Drizzy made via his Burner account two weeks ago, when he was in the midst of a flurry of new releases.
Drizzy shared a clip of former Detroit Pistons star Rasheed Wallace’s famous interview that seemed to show he was preparing for the second round, in which he guaranteed the team would win Game 2 of the 2004 Eastern Conference Finals Beat the Indiana Pacers.
“You can all put it on the front page, back cover, center page, anywhere, headlines, column one or column two – we’re going to win Game 2,” the four-time NBA All-Star said with the Pistons said confidently in the film after the game.
Sheed’s prediction came true, as the Pistons defeated the Pacers 4-2 to win the series.
