Nas and DJ Premier released their highly-anticipated new album Light-Years on Friday, which has social media buzzing.
While some listeners are enjoying the project’s retro-classic sound, others are complaining about some of Preemo’s distinctly uninspired beats. While we don’t think this album is perfect, it’s certainly the kind of album that gets better with every listen.
Today we have our first week of sales. HDD reports that the album will sell 21,000 copies in its first week and will debut at $46 on the Billboard 200 next week.
Premier manager Ian responded to the news:
Independent in every way. Wait until vinyl and CD are available. This is the first week. Let’s see where we are in 1, 5 and 10 years. I love the thought that every sync with TV, movies, and video games will feel great knowing it’s coming directly from us! https://t.co/siKuqbvLCG
