According to reports, Mistikal has pleaded guilty to the Louisiana rape case and could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The rapper appeared in Ascension Parish Court on Tuesday (March 17) and pleaded guilty to third-degree rape in connection with a 2022 arrest, local news station WAFB 9 reported. The judge also ordered an investigation. Mystikal’s sentencing is scheduled for June 16 and he faces up to 20 years in prison.
XXL has contacted Mystikal’s attorney and the Ascension Parish Clerk for comment.
Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, was arrested on July 30, 2022, after an alleged victim who had a long-term relationship with the rapper identified him to police as her rapist. The woman accused the former No Limit host of assaulting her over a dispute over money at the rapper’s Prairieville, Louisiana, home. She claims Mystikal punched, kicked, choked and pulled out her hair after believing she had taken $100. He then allegedly took her keys and mobile phone and prevented her from leaving.
While searching for the missing money, she discovered a “crystalline substance” in his dresser. She then claimed that Mysterious Carr forced her onto a bed and raped her after praying with her and doused her with alcohol to cleanse her of “bad spirits”.
Mystikal has a history of related legal issues. He was jailed for six years after pleading guilty to sexual assault and blackmail in 2003 over an incident with his then-hairstylist. In 2017, he was charged with rape. The case was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.
