Mustard is asking a Los Angeles court to grant him sole legal custody of his three children and impose $30,000 in sanctions against his ex-wife, Chanel Thierry, who he says has repeatedly violated their custody agreement through social media.
The Grammy-winning producer filed new legal documents demanding full authority over decisions involving Kieran, 13, Kauna, 10, and Cody, 6.
The legal team, led by attorney Samantha Spector, claimed Thierry ignored a court order banning both parents from making derogatory comments to each other in front of their children.
The document includes screenshots of Thierry’s posts on Threads, including an October post that read: “Dijon, I know you’re reading this and I’m tired of your s***. You suck.”
She wrote in another post, “I have been divorced for three years and my ex-husband continues to do things to purposely piss me off… A man will treat your children based on how he feels about the mother. Mark my words.”
Mustard believes Thierry’s online comments not only violated the terms of their custody, but hurt their children and strained their already fragile co-parenting dynamic.
According to court documents, Thierry’s posts about mustard have consistently received the most attention on her platform, which he said adds to the emotional burden on children.
The former couple finalized their divorce in October 2024 after a tumultuous split in which Thierry accused Mustard of falsifying a cancer diagnosis during their separation.
As part of the settlement, Mustard agreed to pay $24,500 in monthly child support and issue a one-time spousal support payment of $315,000.
They married in 2020, but the relationship soon fell apart. Mustard filed for divorce in 2022, citing irreconcilable differences. Throughout the proceedings, both parties made serious claims about each other’s parenting and conduct.
Currently, both parents share joint legal custody. If Mustard’s request is approved, he would gain exclusive say over key aspects of the children’s lives, including their education, health care and religious upbringing.
