Mike WiLL Made-It exited the game. He is one of the most important producers of the 2010s, with an impressive resume of hits. The 2020s, however, are a different story. After spending the last decade playing more background roles, he finally decided to return with new music. “high3r” is the first song since 2023 to be fully credited to Mike WiLL Made-It, and it goes in a different direction than fans expected. Instead of having Lil Yachty and Lil Wayne work together on an upbeat song, the producers opted for a cold, edge-to-edge ballad. Lil Yachty is a dominant musical force in “high3r.” The rapper applies his melodious croon to the chorus and verse.
Mike WiLL Made-It is taking it to the production end. The Georgia icon channels his stuttering cymbals into a dramatic piano riff to surprisingly good effect. “high3r” will never be mistaken for an S-class Mike WiLL Made-It beat, but it’s still high quality. Lil Wayne appears in the second half of the song, keeping the croon going strong. It’s been a while since fans heard Weezy’s voice in “How to Love” mode. Everything will be as you imagined. The most interesting aspect of his poem is the odd reference to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
