Ryan Coogler was pulled into the field at the back-scenes convention of the Sinner after Michael B. Jordan made it clear that he could not stand the fake blood used in the vampire thriller, which was released on Friday (April 18).
Jordan plays the film’s twin brother, Smoke and Stack, and does not back down when asked about the special effects of gore in a joint interview with Coogler.
“I like poisonous fangs. Poisonous fangs are thick soup,” Jordan said. “Sometimes the blood is a little confusing and uncomfortable. There is a lot of blood.”
Coogler, who directed the film and worked with Jordan at the Fruitvale Station (Creed and Black Panther), said the actor’s reaction was so strong that it triggered the producer’s seat.
“My producer and wife, Zinzi Coogler, called me in a few weeks and she was like, ‘Hey, we have to talk about Mike.'” Kugler recalled. “I thought, ‘What? What’s wrong?’ She was like, ‘Blood-He didn’t like it. “I thought, ‘Wait, what?'”
Jordan clarified that he was not trying to inspire drama. He was just venting the sticky situation.
He smiled and said, “First of all, there is a difference between complaining and venting.” “I’m just venting, do you know what I’m talking about? But they care about me, so they have a meeting. Thanks for the meeting.”
Coogler added that Jordan’s discomfort during the filming was obvious.
“I remember sometimes I thought, ‘OK, act’, you think, ‘It’s really disgusting…’,” said Coogler. “It’s disgusting.”
The Sinners marked the fourth cooperation between Kugler and Jordan.
