Metro Boomin will donate $20,000 to each city he tours with Future, all in support of single mothers.
The super producer has launched the Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes grant program, named after his late mother, which will provide $20,000 in grants in each of the 21 markets on his We Trust You tour and concert tickets.
Following a Metro and Future show in Missouri earlier this week, the first grant went to Kansas City-based nonprofit Essential Families.
In addition to donations, Essential Families is allowing two mothers and their children to attend the concert for free.
Shortly before the announcement and the first “We Trust You” performance, Metro Boomin hosted a special event in St. Louis, Missouri for hometown diehards.
The “Too Many Nights” rapper hosted a Metro Boomin and Friends event earlier this week at The Pageant in Gateway City.
Pluto and Metro will perform tonight (August 2) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before hitting Lollapalooza and invading Pluto and Atlanta, Toronto, Philadelphia, New York, Houston, Las Vegas and Inglewood cities before concluding the show in Vancouver on September 9th.
The arena tour is in support of the duo’s recent collaborative albums We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You.
Metro has long been an advocate for single mothers, supporting them in any way it can.
Back in 2022, he launched an initiative in partnership with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation to celebrate single moms as everyday heroes.
The rapper and producer’s “Single Moms Are Superheroes” initiative launched in Atlanta, with Metro Boomin providing a VIP experience for 26 mothers and their children at the Falcons-Steelers game.
Earlier this year, Metro donated $100,000 to five nonprofits in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
The money is used to help women overcome debt and pay for childcare, rent and other expenses.
“I’ve seen firsthand the hard work it takes to be a single mom. My inspirations are my heroes,” the 30-year-old said in a statement. “It’s important to me to pass this on because I see the same resilience and dedication in the women who work with these organizations.”
He partnered with Amazon Access and Rung for Women to award $20,000 each to the Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation, Little Bit Foundation, Almost Home, Parents as Teachers and Haven of Grace.
