When Method Man agreed to be his daughter Chey’s backup dancer, he broke into TikTok with some clever moves and even more clever parenting — all to prevent his credit card from being wiped out.
The Wu-Tang Clan icon jumped into Chey’s video after he pitched him a deal he couldn’t refuse.
“I promised my dad that if he was my backup dancer, I wouldn’t use his card for a shopping spree. How is he doing?” she joked in the caption, before popping up and showing up.
@cheymusic I promised my dad that if he was my backup dancer, I wouldn’t go on a shopping spree with his card 😂❤️ How is he? Do I go shopping or chat? #Chey #dadsoftiktok #ineverknewlovelikethisbefore #methodman ♬ Original Sound – DJ FAZIO
In this video, Method Man syncs up with Chey to remix Stephanie Mills’ hit “Never Knew Love Like This Before” with Kwame’s “Only You,” giving off smooth Staten Island energy and proving he still has a groove.
The atmosphere is fun, the action is clean, and the whole thing gives us a glimpse into their tight father-daughter relationship.
Chey (real name Cheyenne Smith) has struggled in the rap game, trying to forge her own path outside of her father’s shadow.
She released two songs in 2024 and has been making waves as a rapper and content creator. She’s not free riding – she’s building her own reputation.
She graduated from Wagner College in 2020 and has been focusing on her music ever since. She also has a twin brother named Raekwon, yes, named after another Wu-Tang Clan legend.
While Method Man is usually known for spitting and tearing up stages, this time he made headlines for being a cool dad.
