Method Man (real name Clifford Smith) has denied the latest assault allegations. A report published by the New York Post on Thursday (January 16) claimed that the Wu-Tang Clan legend punched a 28-year-old man seven times in the face at the Crunch Gym in Staten Island.
But Method Man’s representative Nicole Perna refuted that claim, saying he was not involved in any such incident, saying in a statement: “Smith categorically denies the reported allegations and has not been arrested by any law enforcement agency.
The NYPD also confirmed that no arrests were reported in connection with the incident. The Washington Post article suggested that the altercation involved Smith and Patrick Sokoya, the alleged ex-boyfriend of Method Man’s daughter Chyenne.

The Washington Post said Sokoya filed a report with the New York Police Department, telling officials he experienced facial pain and dizziness after the incident but refused medical treatment at the scene. Despite these claims, there is no official action or evidence to support the accusations.
Although Method Man is best known for his rap career and performances with the Wu-Tang Clan, he’s also dedicated to staying in shape, so it’s not uncommon to see him in the gym. His fitness routine focuses on strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and overall health. His daily routine isn’t as publicly detailed as that of some other celebrities, but he has shared in interviews and on social media that weightlifting and boxing are core elements of his fitness regimen.
Method Man has been seen working out at gyms (including Crunch Fitness) on several occasions, and has mentioned his preference for weightlifting, with an emphasis on building muscle mass and building endurance. He incorporates aerobic exercise like martial arts and boxing into his daily routine, which helps him stay agile and strong.
He also maintains a balanced diet and proper rest to supplement his training efforts and help him recover and maintain peak performance. Method Man’s commitment to fitness is part of his broader focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle while juggling everything else. Obviously this doesn’t include beating people up.
