Megan Thee Stallion has revealed that the release of her upcoming self-titled third album has been thrown into chaos due to last-minute clearance issues for animated samples.
The “Hiss” hitmaker and anime superfan has been teasing a hard-to-obtain anime sample for weeks. However, after revealing last month that the sample had been cleared, she received a request to change the track the day before release.

A panicked Meghan hopped on Instagram Live to discuss the issue with her fans on Wednesday (June 26). “My hotties are stressed out,” Megan began. “I’m just here to give you a quick update on my day as I’m going through it.”
After explaining that her album is set to be released at midnight on Thursday (June 27), Meghan shared, “Y’all will never believe the f### just happened to me.”

Megan added that while she was “very grateful” to have an animated sample, it was “probably the hardest song to understand.”
When Megan first submitted the song, she was asked to make some changes. She was then told that she “could not play any of the animated characters in the music video.” Megan said she said yes because she wanted the song so bad.
“We got an email last night that said, ‘I actually need you to name the characters in the show,'” Meghan exclaimed, dramatically elongating the last letter of the sentence. “That’s the whole song,” she added, “that makes the song meaningful.”
The sample owner told Megan they would clear the music or the character’s name, but not both. “Music is really important to me,” Meg explains. “But the names really tie them together.”
The H-town hottie recalled rushing to a makeshift recording studio to change the song.
“I really hope you all think this sounds hot, because I had to jump through eight million hoops to get this,” she said. “Once you hear the sample, you’ll know why they gave us a hard time.”
