Megan Thee Stallion is in celebration mode. She’s dominating 2024 so far with a No. 1 single and a massive tour. She also managed to grab a well-deserved guest spot. The rapper is in her prime and she’s making a difference. Megan Thee Stallion hosted an album launch party to commemorate her new record Megan, and she surprised guests with a live snake. It gets better. The “BOA” rapper decided to handle the snake herself and show it off to some of her famous friends.
Megan posed with Gloria and Asian Doll with a snake. A photographer who took photos of the incident asked what the snake’s name was. Unsurprisingly, Megan Thee Starling claims the snake was also named “Megan.” After all, this is promotion for the album of the same name. Considering the snake theme that runs throughout Meghan’s new album, the decision to bring a snake to the release party made perfect sense. Her lead singles were called “HIS”, “Cobra” and “BOA”. She expressed her decision to go the “snake” direction in the Megan trailer. In the trailer, the rapper can be heard saying: “Like a snake shedding its skin, we have to shed our past again and again.”
Megan Thee Stallion shows off a snake named ‘Megan’
Megan Thee Stallion elaborated on this concept in an interview with L’Officiel USA. She makes it clear that she doesn’t condone so-called “snake behavior,” which is discussed a lot on the album. She uses snake imagery to convey the concept of “renewal and rebirth.” The ambition also aligns with the rapper’s previous comments about going through difficult times in her personal life. Megan Thee Stallion has had to face public criticism over her court battle with Tory Lanez. It was the release and huge success of “HIS” that restored her confidence. Renewed, reborn.
“We’re not just stopping at snakes,” Megan Thee Stalling told the outlet. “We started with snakes, because first of all, I love snakes. But I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in Western culture. Snakes represent rebirth and spirituality.” The rapper also admitted that she likes the threatening connotations that snakes bring . “I like dark things,” she added. “Something that’s a little bit scary. I like unique things. I chose Snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.” Megan’s antihero era is off to a good start.
