Megan Thee Stallion’s new album Megan is star-studded, but perhaps the one that stands out the most is a verse from the late Pimp C on her UGK and Juicy J collaboration “Paper Together.”
The song, produced by Juicy and Go Grizzly, was released alongside the album on Friday (June 28), with Pimp effortlessly floating over the beat, embodying just the right amount of his stable.
“A young yellow bitch gonna tear your stable apart/You gotta tie that bitch up to a long cable/I used to cut cheese on the table/But now I’m selling dope on the record label,” he raps.
When announcing the tracklist earlier this month, Meg said of getting the posthumous verse: “It’s like I got Pimp and Boone in one song, Stop Playing With Me.”
Bun B added in the comments, “They’re not ready yet!”
After Megan Thee Stallion signed with Roc Nation in 2019, Pimp C’s widow Chinara Butler revealed in her congratulatory post that she had saved some of her late husband’s unreleased verses for her fellow Houstonian.
“I also saved a few unreleased verses from #PimpC for you!!!! Get ’em #TinaSnow #HotGirlOfTheYear!!!! #Yessssss #texasgirls #TrillQueenTalk #megantheestallion #LongLiveThePimp,” she wrote.
Meg expressed her love for Pimp C throughout her career.
“I would be in the car, and my mom would be Pimp C. Every day after school I would be in the car and say, ‘Mom, put on Pimp C,'” she once revealed in an interview with Complex.
“So now I just think it’s grown up and just still bumping into him. He made me feel cool as a kid. I don’t even know what he’s talking about, but I know it feels good. I wish he was still alive because I wish I could meet him.
Elsewhere on the new album, Megan appears to reignite her feud with Nicki Minaj on second track “Rattle.”
“I wish everyone was around me / But it was my fault, too friendly / I thought everything was fine / But all this time, you were my enemy,” she raps on the opening verse.
She later appeared to reference Nikki’s husband and kids, spitting: “Damn, bitch, it’s been four years / Worrying about your man and your kids / If you’re still reminiscing about the shit we did, your Life must be boring.
“Four years” seems to be a nod to Meghan’s “WAP” collaboration with Nicki Minaj rival Cardi B or Tory Lanez filming her, with Nicki attacking the “Savage” hitmaker The producers downplayed this.
Megan then seemed to take aim at Nicki’s allies and said, “I’m not worried about this bitter hookup/You hoes earned them a spot in the fan club,” seemingly referring to Young Money rapper bringing JT, BIA , Akbar V and others on the Pink Friday 2 tour.
Her impassioned verse ends with: “No tea on me, this guy thinks she’s TMZ,” which may be a nod to Nicki’s “Tea Party” episode of her Amazon Amplifier radio show, in which she mentioned Meghan She was encouraged to have an abortion.
The lyricism continues in the next song, “Figueroa,” where Megan directly references Nicki’s rabid fan base.
“I’m a fucking kid, not a Barbie/Go with any bitch that wants to start,” she raps, while also shouting that “pussies on the internet are using me to get traffic.”
