Joey Bada$$ was honored on Friday when New York City Mayor Eric Adams officially proclaimed December 20, 2024, as Joey Bada$$ Day.
The announcement comes during the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development’s (DYCD) second annual Hip Hop Holiday Giveaway, which aims to bring joy to local families while highlighting the rapper’s commitment to mentoring and inspiring young people. Lasting dedication.
Hosted in partnership with the Million Dollar Giveback Project, the private party was attended by celebrities including La La Anthony, SAINt JHN, Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G.
Adams’ announcement coincides with the second anniversary of Bada$$’s ImpactMENtorship program, which empowers men of all backgrounds through mentorship and inspiration.
The day’s events concluded with an exclusive dinner celebration at Tatiana, a recognized hotspot in the city’s restaurant scene.

In addition to his community activities, Joey Bada$$ continues to expand his creative and intellectual pursuits.
He recently completed an artist residency at NYU Tish’s Clive Davis School and became the youngest inaugural Artist-Scholar-in-Residence at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2025.
