Max B paid a grand visit to A$AP Yams’ gravesite in New York City on Thursday (November 13) to commemorate Yams’ 37th birthday.

The Harlem native, who was recently released from prison after serving nearly 16 years, began the pilgrimage just days after regaining his freedom.

Yams, whose real name is Steven Rodriguez, is not only the co-founder of A$AP Mob, but also the main supporter of Max B during his imprisonment.

Yams died on January 18, 2015 at the age of 26. His cause of death was an accidental drug overdose.

His death has left a permanent void in the hip-hop world, as he is widely credited with founding A$AP Rocky and shaping the artistic direction of A$AP Mob.

Max B has been in prison since 2009, and while serving his sentence, Yams publicly supported the rapper.

Max B was released from custody on Sunday (November 9). In 2016, he reached a plea agreement for aggravated manslaughter in connection with a fatal robbery in 2006, and his original 75-year sentence was reduced to 20 years.

His return to Harlem was met with an exciting reunion, including a widely shared moment with longtime collaborator French Montana.

Within hours of his release, Max B was back on the scene.

He attended a New York Jets game, visited Avianne & Co. to shop for jewelry, and then returned to the studio to start writing new music, including the highly anticipated “Coke Wave 3” with French Montana.
