We’ve learned that all of Drake’s co-workers seem to have turned on him over the altercation, and one thing we’ve learned is that the producers have a problem with him, too. That’s been evident ever since Metro Boomin teamed up with Kendrick Lamar and Future to release their “Like That” record. That song has snowballed into a series of consecutive diss tracks and responses. Metro even got in on the act himself, slapping him on the back with his rather hilarious instrumental, “BBL DRIZZY BPM 150.mp3.” Another producer, Masego, apparently had something to say as well, with his version titled “BBL Drizzy Sax Diss.wav.”
The Jamaican singer and beatmaker Kingston has a history of working with Public Enemy Number One, albeit briefly. On “Certified Lover Boy” opener “Champagne Poetry,” Drake samples Masego’s hit “Navajo.” The song again references a sped-up version of The Singers Unlimited’s “Michelle”. As such, Masego is credited as a producer on “Champagne Poetry,” and he didn’t appear to have anything bad to say about Drake during the interview.

That’s why this saxophone-tweaked version of Metro’s “BBL DRIZZY” beat is surprising. One user on Reddit speculated that Drake was cheating Masego about collecting royalties. “I mean, he said ‘cut the check or I’ll show up with the Jamaicans’ at the end. Maybe Drake was trying to pull some ‘actually I’m paying you an exposure fee’ bullshit.” As Masego said in The bars may appear ambivalent when asked about interviews conducted in which Drake used the word “Navajo.” “That’s why you bought this chain,” the singer said, showing off his gorgeous neckpiece. He even said he was “excited” when he heard the news, and they talked about Drake using “Navajo” on his record.
