Mariah Carey admits she hopes she dates 2PAC after meeting in the mid-1990s.
Speaking on the Brown Bag, which promotes her upcoming album, Carey revealed that she met the late rap legend at the 1996 American Music Awards.
She said, “Okay, he said ‘Hi Maria’, I’m like [ahhh],” she claimed that the brief moment made her “more than just a butterfly.”
Carey added: “I hosted the AMA that year, so I had to keep going but I wanted to keep going because that happened.”
She continued: “I love hip-hop and I love the moments we are talking about, especially ‘Hi Maria. Yes, for me it was a very important moment to say the least.”
Then asked Carey if they had a chance to date a pop legend, answering, “I hope.”
Actor Bokeem Woodbine recently revealed that 2Pac went out of his way to impress Lucy Liu.
“I just remember one day, ‘Pac came knocking on my trailer. He was like, ‘Yo man, what are you doing?” I was like, “I’m just cold.” He was like, “Yeah, I just came back from Lucy’s room and I wanted to spit and play games.”
PAC told him that Liu wanted to teach him martial arts: “He was like, ‘Okay, okay, maybe if I dress up some interest and act like I’m interested in what she’s trying to talk to me, that would bring me closer to a deal.”””
Woodbing added: “So, I’m just cracking it. He’s like, “No, it doesn’t work.” “I said, “Ah, don’t worry, you know, you can’t win it all.” ”
“Maybe it’s just on her head, like, she doesn’t know what he is [was talking about]. But he told me, “Yeah, you know, I’m trying to know her, the only thing she wants to talk about is waving these sticks.”
