Mahershala Ali expresses frustration at stalled blade restart and Marvel’s silence Jurassic World Premiere: DoA minion in New York on Monday.
The Academy Award-winning actor told Hollywood Reporter that he is still in a dark state of the long-delayed project, which was announced at San Diego Comic Con about six years ago.
“I only take it one day a day. I’m doing my best,” Ali said. “I’d love to let the blade happen. We’ll see; I don’t know where the miracle is now. I’m just looking for the next great part, I really am.”
Since 2019, Ali has been hired to take over the role of Wesley Snipes’ famous vampire role-playing.
But the film encounters repeated setbacks, including the departure of two directors – Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange, and the loss of the key actors.
In October 2023, Marvel took the championship completely from its release calendar.
Despite the uncertainty, Alibaba has not lost interest. In another interview with Variety, he made his position clear: “Call Miracle. I’m ready. Let them know I’m ready.”
The Moonlight and Green Book star revealed that he recently brought “some works of swords” to the upcoming film Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother,” which made him scratch his “stunt skin”.
The original Blade trilogy led by Snipes paved the way for modern superhero films from 1998 to 2004.
Snipes has even returned to the role of the 2024 guest appearance of Deadpool & Wolverine, adding more pressure to Marvel to fulfill the promise of restarting.
Marvel Studios Chairman Kevin Feige told attendees last fall on D23 that the company is still “committed” to restart, but has not announced a new release date.
